Why Leave Whatsapp Group Without Anyone Knowing

There might be many reasons to leave a WhatsApp group. The group may be too noisy, the people in it are annoying or you may have left a job and don’t want contact with colleagues. But there is etiquette to leaving a group.

You don’t want to annoy people by simply disappearing from the group. You should also not just announce “I am leaving this group” and then leave. This can be taken as rude by some people. (It is a good idea to do this if you are leaving a business WhatsApp group.)

If you have several groups and you are leaving one, it is best to just quietly leave without anyone noticing. You can do this on both iOS and Android on WhatsApp.

How to Leave Whatsapp Group Without Notification

It happens to all of us at some point: you join a WhatsApp group for a particular reason, but then either it becomes inactive, or members start posting loads of stuff you’re not interested in.

Maybe you joined a group for a party you’ve now been to and want to leave. Or it could be that your family group chat is full of people posting stuff whenever they feel like it, causing your phone to buzz day and night.

Whatever the reason, there’s an easy way to get out of any WhatsApp group without notifying any members that you left.

Methods to leave WhatsApp group secretly without notifying the group members:

1. Turn Off Whatsapp Group Notifications from Settings

The first method to leave a WhatsApp group without letting anyone know is by disabling notifications.

You can do so by going into Settings > Notifications > WhatsApp > Group Notifications and setting it as off.

This will not send any notification when someone messages in the group so you can safely leave it without anyone being aware of it.

2. Turn Off Whatsapp Group Notifications Directly

If you want to turn off Whatsapp group notifications, you can mute the notification directly in the group chat.

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Open ‘Whatsapp Chat.’

Step 2: Long press on the group name and select ‘Mute Notifications.’

Step 3: Now you can choose how long you want to mute notifications for this group. You can select 8 hours, 1 week, or 1 year. Or you can just select ‘Mute Notifications’ without choosing any duration and it will remain muted even if someone mentions your name in the group chat.

Once you have turned off notifications, you won’t be notified when someone sends a message in that group chat.

Wrapping it up: So, this is how you can leave a WhatsApp group without notification. Whatsapp groups are yet another social media platform that can lead to over-exposure. There’s nothing wrong in leaving a group chat though, so don’t be shy about excluding yourself from places you don’t wanna be.
