A would you rather question is a question that has two possible answers. The first answer is the one you would choose if you had to, and the second answer is the one you would choose if you could. Would you rather take a 20-minute walk or sit in your car for an hour?
This type of question allows the participant to decide between two options and not just be told what to do. A participant can also make their decision based on the consequences of each choice.
For example, a person may choose to walk because they are bored and want to get some fresh air, but might choose to sit in their car if they were going somewhere important or needed to work on a project that required focus.
A would you rather question can be used in many different ways:
