2. DeKalb-Peachtree Airport
DeKalb–Peachtree Airport (IATA: PDK) is a county-owned, public-use airport in DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. The airport is located approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) south of the central business district of Atlanta and about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
It was established in 1942 as DeKalb County Airport but was renamed in 1948 to honor Rufus L. Perryman, a former Chairman of the Board of Commissioners who had been instrumental in securing federal funding for the construction of the airport.
The airport covers an area of 2,100 acres (890 ha) at an elevation of 851 feet (259 m) above mean sea level.
